Art Classes

The Creamery Arts Center offers art classes for all ages and skill levels, creating opportunities for the community to learn, create, and connect through hands-on experiences. From painting and ceramics to fiber arts and mixed media, our classes are designed to spark creativity and build skills in a supportive environment.

The clay studio will be open and Mitchell Oliver will be available to work with studio members or folks who want to try out clay with some guidance.

Free to members of the clay studio. 1 free session for anyone new to the Creamery ceramics studio. Will have to pay $15/day or a reduced monthly fee if want to come more regularly.

New Year New You New Hobby

This class is an intro to crochet and knitting, learning basic stitches and handling of tools.

Materials are provided during the class. However, if students would like to continue what they start in the class, they will need to bring their own hooks, knitting needles and yarn.

Beginner-Intermediate Ceramics Class

Cost: $150

Explore the fundamentals of making ceramics with expert instructor Mitchell Oliver in this four-week course designed for beginner to intermediate level students (no prior experience necessary). Students will learn essential hand-building, wheel-throwing, and glazing techniques in a supportive community studio setting. Through guided projects, beginners will build a foundation in clay preparation, forming, and finishing, while intermediate students will have opportunities to refine skills and pursue special interests. At the end of the class, every student will have several pieces to take home. We hope to see you there!

Cost is $150 which includes 25# bag of clay, more is available if needed at $1.50/pound. Also, includes all equipment or you can bring your own, bisque firing and glaze firing. Class capped at 8 students.

Paint a BookCard: Introduction to Acrylic Painting Basics and Techniques

Cost: $40

The class will be taught in two, two and a half hour sessions. which may be taken as free standing classes or as a two -part class. Part one will teach an opaque, layered acrylic technique to produce a cover painting on a unique BookCard. Part two will involve painting in a watercolor/gouache technique in completing the interior of the card, sub-card and envelope.

$40 per session- All fees will be a donation to the Creamery Building Purchase Fund. Tom might suggest some materials to students with more experience but will have all supplies, brushes, paint, spray bottles etc available for all to use.

Modeling Wall Art in Clay

Students will be creating a 12 x 6 sculpted wall plaque, in 2 in person sessions. Follow the teacher or chose your own idea.

$60 for both days. All materials included. Class needs a minimum of 5 students.
