Intro to Watercolor With Flowers

with Melanie Hoshiko

Thu, Jun 18 | 4:30pm-8:30pm

Cost: $65

Discover the beauty of watercolor in this beginner-friendly class designed for those new to the medium. Students will learn basic fundamental watercolor techniques. Through guided practice exercises, participants will build confidence and develop an understanding of how watercolor behaves on paper. Once the basic techniques have been explored, students will apply what they've learned by painting a floral image on pre-drawn watercolor paper.

This class focuses on learning essential skills rather than creating an original composition. The goal is to provide a foundation in watercolor techniques that students can continue to build on in future painting projects. No prior experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

All supplies are included. Students who already own watercolor paints and brushes are encouraged to bring them, as becoming familiar with your own materials can help support your continued watercolor practice at home.

Registration deadline: Tuesday June 16th

Acrylic Landscape Painting: Techniques for Light, Shadow, and Color

with Wayne McKinzie

Sat, Jun 27 | 4pm-8:30pm

Cost: $65

Do your colors fall flat when you are creating your art? Do your paintings start to become muddy and lose definition?

In this class we will learn how colors interact and how to mix paint to a specific thickness and color. Why different colors placed together can cause perspective to change and even create a third color. We will learn different painting techniques using different sized and shaped brushes.

An image will be provided, and each student will begin to understand how to create an original piece of art, using their own insights and abilities. The goal is not necessarily to come away with a finished piece of art, but for the participants to gather knowledge and take this information with them to continue to create original artwork on their own.

Cost: $65 Students should bring their own acrylic paints, brushes and pallets. Wayne will provide primed boards for students to paint on. Here is a link to a paint set for anyone that is a beginning student. Link
