Introduction to Plein Air
with Lisa Fairbank
Sat, Jun 28 | 4pm-9pm
Cost: $100
Learn to use Plein Air (painting outside from life) to enhance and inform your studio art practice no matter what medium you use. This time honored practice is one of the best ways to quickly advance and refine your painting and drawing skills.
In the morning, we will learn about techniques, easel setups and supplies needed for Plein Air painting. In the afternoon, we will take our new knowledge and put it into practice outside.
This class is best suited for oil color, watercolor, gouache or pastel artists with some studio experience. If you’ve always wanted to learn to paint outside, but have been intimidated by it, this is the class for you!
I will provide water soluble oils and gouache to experiment with outside as well as other basic materials. Please bring your own apron, sunhat and sun protection, water bottle and wear comfortable clothing appropriate for being outside for several hours.
Limited to 8 participants.
$80 class; $20 materials fee paid directly to the instructor
