Penny Heuscher, Photography
As a teen, I was influenced by the great Scot-American naturalist, John Muir, who spent his boyhood near my homeland in the state of Wisconsin
I reflect Muir’s appreciation and deep love for flora, fauna and the land by capturing nature’s beauty in my photos. My first photos were taken just a few miles from John Muir’s first Wisconsin home. I developed a life long interest in nature photography. My favorite subjects are birds, flowers, animals- especially grizzlies- and the aurora borealis. My photos have received awards at the:
In addition, my photos have been published in the CO National Monument calendar and in other calendars. As a long term member of the Creamery Art Center in Hotchkiss, CO., I have had the opportunity to display my work there. I take part in “Art in Motion” of Montrose Center for the Arts and in events at the Art Center of Western Colorado in Grand Junction. Presenting photography programs of my travels for seniors in assisted care has been enjoyable and rewarding. Travels through many countries have given me not only appreciation of different cultures but also many special photo opportunities.
